Very nice app, kudos to the developer, however, it won’t scale which makes it very hard to see on a 24″ monitor.
Any chance of it being ‘tweaked’ so that it can be scaled?

It conflicts with other mods.
Remove all mods and try it.
Map mod probably conflicts with “battle.swf” file in “..gui\flash” folder.

Hmmm, that’s a pity because I also rely on the other mods.
Therefore, looks like I’ll be ditching this mod till it plays ‘nice’ with the others.

I feel kinda stupid to ask this question but can you please tell me what the circles are standing for?

It’s just the distance mark for 1000x1000m maps.
1-st circle – 50m(100%detection)
Green line – 425m
2-nd circle – 590m
3-rd circle – 670m
For 800×800 and 600×600 maps this numbers incorrect.

You can roughly calculate maximum distance at which you will detect/spot an enemy tank if you have line of sight.

I understand the reason for 50m and 425m line, but I do not understand the 2nd and 3rd circles. are these arty reach lines?

Please excuse me. But the green line, the 2nd circle and finally the 3rd circle is good for what ?? Are they detect circles when line of sight or mark they the max. distance for radio ?? When the three lines are detect lines, how can look 670 meters (3rd circle)- T34 tank have normaly sight distance 380m. Equipped with binoculars, or anti reflect lense not more as 500m. How can look 670m ?? What functions have the circles – Detect or distance or whatever functions ?? Sorry for this question, but i dont understand the function.

Remember detection goes both ways. This also tells you the detection range of scouts and others, even if your tank cannot reach these.

I really like ur map. there is just 1 problem about it…
1.5x is normal size – but i think its to big couse sometimes 1 tankicon hides under the other
1.0x on the other hand is to small, i really have to focus on the map to dont overlook them
so a 1.25x would be perfect i think.
a hint smaller than normal, but not that small u wont see them
btw what software did u use?

Pretty good, much improved over the old Russian minimap mod I had been using. However, as a sniper TD player, the listed ranges aren’t of much use to me. I would like to make a request for a slightly different minimap mod to the creator of this mod, if I may, with the following listed ranges:
50m circle – 100% detection
300m line – Detection guideline (useful for bush+camo sniping)
445m circle – Maximum spotting limit
707m square – Maximum draw distance for tanks (it is actually a square, not a circle!)

Sorry, I made a mistake, I meant to say that it is a 1000m x 1000m square centered on your tank. It is 707m at the longest distance from your tank to the corner of the square.

It would be also great to show “old” V for hull facing and line for turret (I really dont need to see where my hull points exactly and it helps if just a bit to nonturreted vehicles to see if they deviate too much to move hull)

And I have a little suggestion – don?t know, if things like these are possible – how about a possibility to enter somewhere your own ranges – so everybody could adjust the circles as he or she needs it.
Just an idea – hope, not to ask for too much

1st circle(which one has surrounded your icon) = 50m
2nd line(which one is on your turret extension line) = 300m
3rd dotted circle(the green one) = 400m
4th dotted almost half circle (the yellow one) = 455or445m

Hi,
OK, when I start the game, the is normally a short black screen before the logon screen appears. With the mod installed, the black screen stays and I do not get to the logon screen.
If you want me to test anything, let me know? Is there anything you need to know about my setup?

Hi ed,
Thanks for the help – i have backed up my 0.8.3 directory and then deleted all content in there. I then installed the mini map mod and it failes again. I get the WoT loading screen, then a clack screen (before what should be the logon screen) but there it stays.
I am not using any mods which are different to what I had under 0.8.2, so this is very puzzling
Not sure what else to try?

OK, I have now downloaded a new client and installed it to my main machine, having renamed the original game folder. Then installed the mod and still the problem persists.
So, I thought I would try the mod on another PC on which I have the game installed. This is an unmodified installation, but again I get exactly the same issue
It is worth nothing that those two PC’s even have different operating systems, one Vista (yuk!) and one Windows 7.
Totally stumped here so any further help appreciated. I sure do miss your mod on the battlefield

Once your file was installed into res mod\8.3\gui\flash I had to put origional file in res mod, and take the flash files from there and put those in my origional gui\flash folder.

By the way I’m running windows 7. Mod Installed and is working fine. I use the Green directional and Red sight line in conjunction with one another ( quick reference to where the front of my tank is pointing and the other a quick reference to where I am looking at present time ( just quick reference mind you ). The semi circle/ Arch I use as a reference to anything close to that marker is within damage range of my tank. The 360′ Green dotted circle around my tank is also used as a quick reference marker for any thing in that zone is a must kill / high priority target. Once you get to the small red hash mark on the green directional line your enenmy is so close your actually involved in hand to hand combat so to speak.

umm, well… the green circle shows your veiw range.
The yellow part of a circle just moves with your turret.

Thanks for quick reply.
I use the 1.2x version of ur mod.
The y-axis caption remains small in the middle of the minimap when i zoom the minimap.
When the zoom of the minimap is the smallest, then ABC… is displayed correctly.
I just use ur mod for minimap, Zoom-Mod and Damage-Inicator.
Already tried to reinstall.
Asked some teammates with ur mod, they have no problems.

Problem is the operating system.
It works well on win7, but breaks on winXP.

the problem is not the OS version
but when the minimap scale,
the letters do not move or adapt to the new measures (the rest of the objects if they fit)

ok…first off, I really like this map more than every other I have tried (especialy the color and length of the turret line etc) I only have 1 issue with it…I can’t scale it up more than 1 size…that’s all
. I do wish it had “last seen” location marked on it..that in conjunction with the tiny square inside minimap targeting square would really help with pin pointing where to shoot with your arty and be able to zoom the map and see exactly what building etc they were hiding behind. TY and good job!!!

So I updated to the new XVM 4.0.0 and then tried this minimap and it gives me a gigantic red box where the minimap is and its in the middle of my screen?
